Starting Workplace
Access Workplace through a web browser.
- When Workplace is
available as a toolkit and wrapped with a process application, it is implemented as a set of Workplace toolkit and UI toolkit views that are combined in a
client-side human service, and can be accessed from any build:

To get you started using Workplace, watch this video:

Note that even though the video shows a slightly earlier version of the user
interface, the functionality is still valid.
Search capabilities
Depending on the environment, Workplace includes the following search capabilities.
- Nonfederated traditional Business Automation Workflow
-
- With a Federated Data Repository
- In a nonfederated Business Automation Workflow traditional environment that is configured with a Federated Data Repository, advanced searches in Workplace can be performed on processes and tasks. If case indexing is enabled, the advanced searches in Workplace will work on cases, too.
- Without a Federated Data Repository
- In a nonfederated Business Automation Workflow traditional environment that is not configured with a Federated Data Repository, only basic search capabilities that work with processes and tasks are available in Workplace. No advanced search capabilities are available without the Federated Data Repository.
