The following sections describe known limitations that you might encounter in Workplace.
Statistics for teams with large number of tasks
For teams with thousands of tasks, the statistic data that is displayed in the team member cards in the status bar might not be 100% accurate. Specifically, the aggregated task counts across multiple federated servers are affected by a limitation in the number of tasks that can be retrieved from the server in one request. The default maximum number of retrieved tasks per request is 500.
Blank page when you first open an app from the Application Engine in Business Automation Navigator
Ensure that you authenticated with both links under CrossSiteCert on the bookmark toolbar using the admin/admin credentials, then refresh the page and see whether this resolved the problem.
If the problem persists, when you open the app from the Application Engine in Business Automation Navigator for the first time, you might get a blank page with an error message similar to the following example:
The webpage at https://localhost:3001/Watson%20Translation?locale=en_US might be temporarily down or
it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
The error occurs because the app uses a self-signed SSL certificate and you have not configured the browser to allow the certificate yet. To fix the issue, open another tab in your browser and call the URL for the Application Engine endpoint that you specified when you configured the connection for the plug-in. When you are prompted to accept the self-signed certificate from the Application Engine, click Yes. Then, simply refresh the first browser tab where the error occurred.
Creation of the Workplace desktop is affected when Business Automation Navigator is set up with an external IdP
When Business Automation Navigator is set up with an external third-party identity provider (IdP), you might notice that the baw-workplace-job doesn't complete successfully, as it was waiting for the Navigator's login to come online. If Business Automation Navigator is already online, the login page that is used by the IdP might be different from what the Workplace job expects. This issue impacts the creation of the Workplace desktop on Business Automation Navigator.
The recommended workaround is to manually create the Workplace desktop, as described in the Adding applications External link opens a new window or tab procedure, adapting the steps for the Workplace app.
Note: To ensure that only one plug-in is enabled for Workplace, in step 3, make sure you select only the Application Discovery Plug-in in the plug-ins section of the desktop creation wizard.
Delayed update of owner name in customized views
In Workplace, when a customized task view includes the Owner column, it displays the user's full name. If the name is updated in the system, the change does not appear immediately in the Owner column. This behavior occurs because the column reflects data from the task’s index document, which is refreshed only during specific events. These events include task assignment, task completion with business data updates, changes to the due date, at-risk date, or priority, and changes in the state of the associated process instance (such as completed, suspended, resumed, or terminated). Until one of these actions occurs, the Owner column continues to display the previous value.
