Installing Process Federation Server interactively

You can use IBM® Installation Manager to install IBM Process Federation Server interactively.

Before you begin

Make sure that Business Automation Workflow is installed.

About this task

Installation Manager is a general-purpose software installation and update tool that runs on a range of computer systems. You can use it to install the software, which includes Process Federation Server, WebSphere® Application Server Liberty Network Deployment, and WebSphere SDK Java™ Technology Edition Version 8.0 for Liberty.

Procedure

  1. Download the Process Federation Server installation package for your operating system and extract the files.
    Attention: The Process Federation Server package is a separate downloadable image from the Business Automation Workflow installation.
  2. Start Installation Manager by running one of the following commands:
    • For Windows operating system
      • Install as an administrator: installPFS.bat
      • Install as a non-administrative user: installPFS_nonadmin.bat
    • For AIX operating systemFor Linux operating system
      • Install as an administrator: installPFS.sh
      • Install as a non-administrative user: installPFS_nonadmin.sh
  3. Install packages: IBM SDK Java Technology Edition Version 8.0
  4. Install packages.
    1. Select the features that apply to your installation: IBM SDK Java Technology Edition Version 8.0.
    2. Click Install.
    3. After the installation completes, click Finish, and close Installation Manager.
