Documenting process applications and toolkits

From the classic IBM® Workflow Center, you can view or print information about a process application or toolkit snapshot. You can generate a report about the process application or toolkit or about an asset of the process application or toolkit. You can also view or generate a report about the changes made from one snapshot to another.

Procedure

To view and print information about a snapshot, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the process application or toolkit in the classic Workflow Center.
  2. In the snapshot page, click the snapshot you want to view information about.
  3. Expand an asset element and then click the name of an asset item to view its detailed information. The presentation of the detailed information differs depending on the kind of asset item that you selected. For example, if you expand the process asset element and then click the name of a process, a process flow diagram opens and you can view the implemented activities and hypertext links that are associated with the diagram.
  4. You can perform the following actions:
    Goal Description Action
Determine the changes that occurred between two snapshots of a process application. You can compare the currently selected snapshot with another snapshot in any of the branches of the current process application. You can then generate and print a comparison report.
    1. Click Compare.
    2. Select a snapshot to compare against the current snapshot.
    3. Click Generate Report to generate the comparison report.
    4. Click Print in the report.
Share and review high-level information with a business user. You can select changed components from one snapshot and copy them to the tip of a branch that has associated dependencies. For example, you can share the process diagram or information about team members that are involved in the activities. Click Copy
Generate and print a report for audit purposes. Generate a report of an entire process application or for a specific asset after selecting that asset. The report includes information about the process application, toolkits, and implementation. The information also contains historical information (who created or updated the artifacts and when the artifact was updated).

When you click Generate Report for an entire process application, a process opens a window where you can specify how many levels of processes or subprocesses the report will show, so that you can minimize the size of the report. Ensure that popups are not blocked.

    1. Click Generate Report
Note: To be included in the report, processes must be exposed as Expose to start. To expose a process:
      1. Open the Overview tab.
      2. In the Exposing section, select a team for the Expose to start option.
    2. Click Print in the report.
Print the information that you are viewing. You can print the current asset view. Click Print. A printer-friendly version of the information you are viewing is made available for printing.
Search You can search an asset list by entering a search term in the search field located in the asset list tab bar. Search filters the returned asset list to include only those assets that include the search term in the asset name, or are assigned a tag that matches the search term. Enter a search term in the search field. You can focus your search by selecting the search scope from the list of available scopes, for exampleAll Process DesignerServices.
