Upgrading from 25.0.0

If you installed Business Automation Insights capabilities from 25.0.0 in a production deployment and you want to continue to use them in 26.0.0, you can upgrade them.

Important: Your current Business Automation Insights version must be 25.0.0-IF004 or later to upgrade directly to 26.0.0. If you are on an earlier version, you must upgrade to 25.0.0-IF004 or later. For more information, see IBM Business Automation Insights Interim fix download document.
To prevent any connection problems during the upgrade, make sure that the passwords that you use, for databases and LDAP, are not about to expire and refresh them if they are. The LDAP bind secret "ldap-bind-secret" is set in the lc_bind_secret parameter in the following ldap_configuration section.

Note: If you installed 25.0.0 by using the script or Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform console, you can upgrade to 26.0.0 by using the scripts only. Upgrading to 26.0.0 by using the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform console is not supported.

Before you upgrade your Business Automation Insights deployment to 26.0.0, it is important to know the steps involved in the upgrade process.

The high-level process that is involved in upgrading from 25.0.0 to 26.0.0 is s follows:

  1. Prepare your BAI deployment environment for the upgrade.
  2. Upgrade the BAI operators.
  3. Upgrade your BAI deployment version.
  4. Complete any post-upgrade task.
