Setting permissions to manage dashboard templates

To manage dashboard templates, you need to have the appropriate permissions.

About this task

You can set permissions through the Zen UI console for users to be able to use the Business Performance Center graphical user interface or the REST API to manage dashboard templates.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Zen UI console.

    Zen is the platform user interface and is documented in Administering the platform External link opens a new window or tab.

  2. Create a Zen role and assign it the Manage dashboard templates Zen permission.

    Alternatively, instead of creating a new role, you can use the Automation Developer Zen role, which already has the Manage dashboard templates Zen permission assigned to it.

    Users with this permission are allowed to import, delete, or update dashboard templates, by using either the Business Performance Center graphical user interface or the REST API. To learn how to access the REST API, see Using the REST API.

  3. Assign users or user groups with that Zen role.

Results

You are allowed to import (create), and update your user-owned templates by using the Business Performance Center or the specific REST API. You can delete them only by using the REST API.
