Configuring the ODM event emitter

You can set parameters in your custom resource so that the operator configures IBM Operational Decision Manager to send events to IBM Business Automation Insights.

About this task

At IBM Business Automation Insights installation, you must configure the Decision Server runtime execution unit (XU) to send decisions as events to IBM Business Automation Insights for further processing.

Depending on your installation, you can configure IBM Operational Decision Manager to send data to IBM Business Automation Insights:

  • IBM® Operational Decision Server Rules on premise - Enable the event emitter in the execution unit (XU) deployment descriptor or by using the setup Ant task. You can also create a plugin-configuration.properties file to store and share all of the configuration parameters that are needed to connect to the Kafka cluster. See Configuring for IBM® Business Automation Insights on premise documentation External link opens a new window or tab

  • IBM Operational Decision Manager on Certified Kubernetes - Configure IBM Operational Decision Manager for production with a Kubernetes secret that contains the plugin-configuration.properties file. See Configuring for IBM® Business Automation Insights on Kubernetes documentation External link opens a new window or tab.

  • IBM Operational Decision Manager event emitter performance - Improve the performance of your ODM event emitter. To get the most out of IBM Business Automation Insights, follow these guidelines for setting up your ODM event emitter. See Tuning the event emitter External link opens a new window or tab.
