Definitions
A few definitions help you understand the concepts behind Business Performance Center.
- Aggregation
- A value that results from a mathematical operation.
- Chart
- A graphical representation of measurements from business data. The graphical representation, called graph types, can be bar, donut, gauges, and more. The value of the measurement can be a plain number or an aggregation.
- Dashboard
- A business monitoring tool that visually displays and tracks in several charts the performance measurements that you use to assess the health of your business.
- Dashboard template
- A dashboard to which was assigned the
TEMPLATEtype in its JSON file. Templates cannot be directly edited or deleted as plain dashboards are. - Data domain
- A data domain is a specific subset of data within a kind, such as a process in IBM Business Automation Workflow or a ruleset in IBM Operational Decision Manager.
- Data kind
- A data kind represents the available IBM® business automation products, such as IBM Business Automation Workflow and IBM Operational Decision Manager.
- Goal
- Charts can be associated to a business goal inside a dashboard.
- Group by
- A function that organizes your data into categories based on the values of a specific field, allowing you to display separate results for each category in a chart.
- Measurement
- A measurement takes business data and generates charts. The value of the measurement can be a plain number or an aggregation.
- Monitoring source
- A monitoring source is a list of data that a team can view and interact with in charts, dashboards, and goals. A monitoring source consists of data kinds and domains.
- Permissions
- A data access control that users with administrator role or with the appropriate Zen permissions can apply to users of Business Performance Center.
- Team
- In Business Teams Service
