From the Monitoring tab, specify the data that you want to
monitor. A monitoring source is the data set that you are allowed to view and interact with in a
chart.
Procedure
-
Select a monitoring source from the Monitoring source list.
A monitoring
source consists of a data kind and a data domain. A data kind represents the available IBM® business automation software, such as IBM Business Automation Workflow and IBM Operational Decision Manager. A data domain is a specific
subset of data within a kind, such as a process in IBM Business Automation Workflow or a ruleset in IBM Operational Decision Manager.
- Create an aggregate by selecting a function and a data item.
- Optional: If your chart is a KPI or Period KPI chart, set a
target to measure how far a key performance indicator (KPI) is performing relative to
expectations.
- Optional: Group your data by selecting one or more properties under
Group by.
You apply the order in which your data is displayed.
If you select more than one group when you are creating a metric, by clicking on the
chart you can drill down into successively deeper levels of information for a bar chart, donut
chart, or pie chart.
- For a Period metric or a Period KPI chart,
enter a value for Time interval, such as Daily
option.
The time interval displays the specified number of data points according to your
selection, from seconds to years.
Results
The preview panel automatically refreshes to display the selected data. The chart contains only
the first 1000 lines of data.
If you want to change the monitoring source in several charts
simultaneously, you click Edit details from the dashboard
and
then click Bulk edit.
If your measurement contributes to a larger business objective, you can assign it to a goal. To
learn how to create a goal, see Setting goals.
