Control capabilities for roles

Learn about the control capabilities that Analytics Content Hub provides for different roles.

View Content
This capability allows members to see any content (workspaces, Pages, reports, and other content) when they log in to Analytics Content Hub. Users without this capability granted to them receive the following similar message:

View Content message says Hey, test. You don't have any content you can see just yet. Contact your administrator and ask for access.

Important: This capability must be assigned to every role, unless access to Analytics Content Hub needs to be temporarily unavailable.
Execute Artifact
This capability allows members of the role to run reports from the content systems. Without this capability, if users try to start a report, they receive the following message: Unable to show this content right now.
Explore Content
This capability grants access to the Explore Content interface, so that the users can view and modify the Analytics Content Hub folder structure.
Manage Hive Page
With this capability granted, users can author workspaces, but do not have access to the Control Center to add or delete new workspaces. To author a workspace, a role with this capability, or a specific user, must have edit permissions on the workspace. This is only for individuals that are responsible for workspace authoring, but have no admin capabilities.
Filesystem Admin
Roles with this capability are able to see the Explore Content action under their profile, which grants access to the Analytics Content Hub File System.

Managing capabilities with access to the Control Center

The following managing capabilities give users access to the Control Center and to view the Manage Analytics Content Hub action under their profile:

Manage Hive
In the Control Center, users with this capability can see the workspaces section, and view, set properties on the workspaces that they can access.
Manage Appearance
In the Control Center, users with this capability have access to the Customizations area, except the Miscellaneous settings, so that Colors, Themes, and the Login Screen can be managed.
Manage Custom Fields
In the Control Center, users can manage the Custom Fields.
Set Custom Fields Values
Users with this capability can edit metadata values for objects that they can view.
Manage Authorization
In the Control Center, users can view the Security page, which allows them to manage Users and Roles.
Manage Content Systems
In the Control Center, users can view the Connectors and IQ pages, which allows them to manage the third-party system connections, and the training schedule for the machine learning based recommendations.
Manage Content Thumbnails
Users with this capability can set custom thumbnails for objects that they can view.
Manage License
