The Onboarding Process
Onboarding is the process during which IBM sets up your company and your trading partners to access an IBM service.
You will receive help from IBM in getting started. The following table shows the general sequence of steps in the onboarding process. The columns on the right show who performs the task: a designated person from IBM or your company contact person. The steps after the table correspond to the steps in the table and provide additional information.

Welcome Letter and Questionnaire
After you contract for an IBM service or protocol, the IBM Onboarding group emails a welcome letter and questionnaire to your company's contact person for the service or protocol. The questionnaire requests information that helps IBM set up your connection, such as:
- document types to be sent and received (such as purchase order and invoice)
- format of documents to be sent and received (such as XML, cXML)
- names of trading partners
