Segregation of duty for submitting or approving maps

Based on your role, some features might not be applicable for you. For example, your role as a business user might be different from your role as an administrator. For your ease of reference and operation, Configuration Hub is equipped to segregate the actions associated with roles.

Submitting maps for review

To send your map for approval or deployment, refer to the following procedure.
  1. In the Submit map for review section, provide your comments.
  2. From the Action options menu, select Assign to me. The option appears only for you, as business administrators, for those maps that are pending for reviews and are not submitted to you.
  3. Click Submit.

Approving or rejecting maps

You can approve, deploy, or reject a map if you are either an administrator or a business user with production deployment privilege. To approve, deploy, or reject a map that is sent to you, refer to the following procedure.

  1. For approving a map that is submitted to you for review, click the Pending production review tab on the Mappings page.
  2. From the Action options menu, select Assign to me. The option appears only for you, as business administrators, for those maps that are pending for reviews and are not submitted to you. Alternatively, if the map is assigned to you, you can review it by clicking Review.
  3. To approve a map, choose Approve. Alternatively, choose Reject.
  4. Provide your comments.
  5. To assign the map to a user for deployment, select the Assign to user check box and select a user from the drop down. Alternatively, if you choose Reject and select this check box, it populates the name of the user who submitted the map for review. if required, you can assign the map to some other user for rework.
  6. Click Confirm.

Deploying maps

All approved maps are displayed in the Pending production deploy tab.

A map that is approved displays the Approved message in the Submit map for review section. Before you deploy a map to the production environment, ensure that you provide your comments. Then, click Deploy.

Reconsidering for reviews

Sometimes, you might want the business user to reconsider the map before you deploy it to production. In such a case, click the Action options menu, select Reconsider for review. Then, on the Review window, follow the steps 3 through 6.

You can access this option from both the listing page and the details page.
