Overriding code list lock

A company administrator (admin) or IBM Support can override (unlock) the lock that another user placed on a code list.

About this task

A lock on a code list prevents anyone from changing the code list. A company administrator (admin) or IBM Support might need to use the Unlock function in the user interface in various scenarios. For example, if a user locks a code list, but that user is not available, another user can override the lock to revise the code list.

Important: If IBM Support locks a code list, a company administrator (admin) cannot unlock the code list.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation menu, select Company resources > Code lists. Then, on the Code lists page, click the Action options menu for the code list you want to unlock.
  2. From the Action options menu, select Unlock.
The Unlock code list modal is displayed.
    Important:

The modal indicates which user currently holds the lock. When you override the code list lock, the code list is then available for other users to edit.

  3. Click Unlock.
    The code list is unlocked.
