Comparing code lists

You can do a comparison between a currently deployed CTE code list and a currently deployed production code list to understand if they are identical at the time of the comparison.

About this task

The Compare function analyzes the code lists to determine whether a currently deployed CTE code list and a currently deployed production code list are identical at that specific point in time. The Compare function is not displayed if a production code list does not exist as part of a CMD or CMCP map. In this scenario, the production code list is the same as the CTE one, so the Compare function is not valid.

Tip: In the Code list details page, a company administrator (admin) or IBM Support can update the code list type. You update the code list type to specify whether the CTE and production content of the code list is the same or different.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation menu, select Company resources > Code lists. Then, on the Code lists page, click the Action items menu for the code list you want to compare.
  2. From the Action items menu, select Compare.
    The Compare code lists modal is displayed.
  3. Click Run code list comparison to initiate the comparison.
    Important: You are notified that the system is comparing the currently deployed CTE and currently deployed production code list. Wait for the comparison function to complete. If you click Close before the analysis is complete, you do not receive the results of the comparison. When the comparison is complete, the modal notifies you that the code list content is the same or different in CTE and production.
  4. After the comparison results are displayed, click Close.
