Acceptable connection protocols

IBM Sterling e-Invoicing customers are required to connect to IBM Sterling B2B Integration SaaS by using communications protocols that ensure the integrity and authenticity of the supplier's invoice data (first mile security and last mile security).

The following protocols are supported.

  • HTTP/S
  • FTP/S
  • SFTP
    Note: From 21 June 2025, the SFTP connection supports the following ciphers.
    • aes128-gcm@openssh.com
    • aes256-gcm@openssh.com
  • FTP / PGP
  • AS2
  • C:D Secure+
  • FTP over VPN
  • X.400
  • OFTP
