Global Mailbox administrator nodes causing a data center failure

All of the Global Mailbox administrator nodes are experiencing an outage in one of the data centers.

Symptoms

Files can be uploaded to both data centers, but messages are not replicated.

Causes

Global Mailbox administrator node failures can result from incidences such as network outages and hardware failures.

Environment

Windows, UNIX, or Linux.

Diagnosing the problem

  1. Check IBM® Control Center for a red circle on the Global Mailbox server within the Data center view.
  2. Check for the following errors in the messages.log file in the surviving data center:

Error from stderr: ascp: Failed to open TCP connection for SSH, exiting.

CBXRN0001E: Unable to replicate the file

Resolving the problem

Ensure that all Global Mailbox administrator nodes are started in all data centers to ensure that files are replicated.
