How to create a trading partner to use Global Mailbox

You can create trading partners for Global Mailbox from Sterling B2B Integrator or from Global Mailbox.

About this task

If you want to create a trading partner in Sterling B2B Integrator, and want to use Global Mailbox, you must select the Use global mailboxes for the partner option in the Add Partner wizard.

Procedure

To create a trading partner to use Global Mailbox, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to Global Mailbox.
  2. Create a user.

    The user does not require any additional permissions. Mailbox permissions are managed within the Global Mailbox MGlobal Mailbox Management Tool.

  3. In Sterling B2B Integrator, click Deployment > Global Mailbox > Mailbox Management > Launch Global Mailbox Management Tool.
  4. Create a root mailbox for the user in the Mailbox Explorer.

  5. In the User Explorer, assign the new mailbox as the Virtual Root for the user.
  6. Ensure that the Automatically manage permissions option is selected for the user to have sufficient permissions to log in and view the root mailbox.

  7. Assign any additional permissions by clicking Manage in Permissions.

    For example, you can add the Create messages permission to upload messages to the mailbox.

  8. To process the files that are added to the mailbox, create an event rule in the Event Explorer.
