Removing virtual roots
Unset the virtual root assigned to a user to disable the user from accessing Global Mailbox.
About this task
For each registered application, users from the application are listed in the User Explorer. The virtual root that is assigned to them is displayed. If they do not have a virtual root assigned, the message Undefined Virtual Root is displayed. If the virtual root is an invalid path, it is listed in red with an X icon.
Admin users always have a virtual root of / (slash) and their virtual root cannot be removed. Admin users are not listed in the User Explorer.
To remove a virtual root to a user:
Procedure
- From the Mailbox Management menu, select User Explorer.
- Click in the row for the user you want to remove a virtual root.
- From the Manage Virtual Roots menu, select Remove Virtual Root.
-
Ensure that Revoke permissions is selected (default).
Without a virtual root, the user can no longer access the mailbox system.
Results
When a virtual root assignment is removed and Revoke permissions is selected, the VIEW_MAILBOX and EXECUTE permissions are removed for that user. No other permissions on the virtual root mailbox are changed.
