Updating an AS4 inbound exchange profile

An inbound exchange profile includes the configurations that are required to receive messages from a partner. You can update an AS4 inbound exchange profile if you want to change the configuration of the exchange profile. For example, you might need to change the AS4 receiver settings, destination settings, or the sender or receiver IDs. After you update an exchange profile, you must redeploy the exchange profile for the changes to take effect.

About this task

Before you update an exchange profile, you must communicate to your partner the changes in the configuration of the exchange profile. Similarly, if there are any changes in your partner's exchange profile settings that require you to update the exchange profiles of your organization, you can do so. You can update an exchange profile when it is deployed and currently used. However, if you update an exchange profile when an exchange is in progress, the message exchange might fail. However, if the lookup for the exchange profile (by the AS4 component) is complete, message exchange does not fail. You can update only the following parameters of an exchange profile:
  • Name
  • Description
  • Conformance policy
  • Service
  • Agreement URI
  • P-Mode ID
  • Sender ID
  • Receiver ID
  • Trading partner organization
  • Receiver
  • Connection Settings
  • Destination
  • Response Settings

Procedure

To update an AS4 inbound exchange profile, complete the following steps.

  1. Log in to AS4 Microservice user interface. You must have Master Account Administrator permissions to update an AS4 inbound exchange profile.
  2. Click Exchanges > Exchange Profiles.
  3. On the Exchange Profiles page, click the name of the AS4 inbound exchange profile that you want to update.
  4. On the detailed view page for that exchange profile you can perform the following tasks:
    1. Basic Properties section - Click Edit next to Basic Properties, make the necessary updates, and click Save. To cancel the updates, click Cancel.

You can also change the conformance policy used by an exchange profile by editing the exchange profile and changing the conformance policy to another one that is compatible with the pattern of the exchange profile. In this scenario, you do not need to undeploy the exchange profile before changing its conformance policy. Once you configure the exchange profile as necessary based on the new conformance policy, you manually deploy the updates.

    2. Participating Organizations section - You can remove the sender ID or the receiver ID and add another ID.

    3. Inbound Push Request section - You can remove the AS4 receiver or the HTTP or HTTPS destination and add another receiver or destination. To edit the connection settings, hover the mouse pointer over the Configure connection section and click Edit. To remove the connection settings, click Remove.

Remember: When you update an exchange profile after deployment, the percentage complete shows as 80%, but the status shows as Deployed. For the updates to take effect and the percentage complete to show as 100%, you must redeploy the exchange profile.
  5. After you complete the updates, click Redeploy to redeploy the exchange profile.
