Scenario 11 - Editing the Business Process

In this scenario, add the Obscure Data - Process Data Values to your business process. The Obscure Data - Process Data Values retrieves the remote password from the CDClientObscureParameter configuration. The CD Server Begin Session Service gets the remote password from the Obscure Data - Process Data Value. The remote password is not revealed in the business process.

About this task

Use the following procedure to edit the Sterling B2B Integrator business process:

Procedure

  1. Log in to Sterling B2B Integrator and launch the Graphical Process Modeler from the Home screen.
  2. Enter your Sterling B2B Integrator User ID and password in the Log In dialog box.
  3. If the All Services stencil is not visible in the GPM, navigate to the View menu and select Stencil > All Services.

    This will add the All Services stencil to the GPM.

  4. From the File menu, select Open, navigate to your business process file and click Open.
  5. Drag and drop the Obscure Data - Process Data Values icon from the Connect:Direct stencil into the Business Process window.
  6. To arrange and link the icons:

    Click the arrow between the start icon and the CD Server Begin Session Service icon and press Delete to remove it.

    Place the Obscure Data - Process Data Values icon between the start icon and the CD Server Begin Session Service icon.

    Click the arrow on the right side of the start icon and drag it to the arrow on the left side of the Obscure Data - Process Data Values icon.

    Click the arrow on the right side of the Obscure Data - Process Data Values icon and drag it to the arrow on the left side of the CD Server Begin Session Service icon.

  7. Configure the Obscure Data - Process Data Values using the following procedure:

    Double-click the Obscure Data - Process Data Values icon. This opens the Service Editor window.

    In the Service Editor-Obscure Data - Process Data Values window, select CDClientObscureParameter from the Config drop-down list.

    In this step you specify the CDClientObscureParameter configuration to use for the Obscure Data - Process Data Values. You can override configuration values in the Service Editor.

  8. Edit the CD Server Begin Session Service using the following procedure:

    Double-click the CD Server Begin Session Service icon.

    Select Yes as the Value for UsingObscuredPasswd.

    Type CDUserID/text( ) as the Value for the RemotePasswd and select the Use XPATH? box. CDUserID is the Sterling Connect:Direct® User ID.

  9. From the File menu, select Save. In the Validate dialog box, click Yes to validate the business process.
  10. On the Save dialog box, type your business process file name in the File Name box and click Save.

    Remember where you save this file.
