Upgrading Global Mailbox
You can upgrade Global Mailbox without changing the values that are set in the previous versions.
Before you begin
Important: Global Mailbox per-requisite
services must be started at least once before you upgrade it.
Complete the following tasks:
- Ensure that you back up the following components on every node:
- Sterling B2B Integrator and the database
- Cassandra
- ZooKeeperImportant: You must manually back up
watchdog.properties
file to retain all the changes.
Important: If for some reason the update is interrupted or stopped midway, you must manually revert the changes by using the backed up files, and then restart the update installation. - Ensure that you upgrade WebSphere® MQ to 9.0.0.4.

- Ensure you have stopped the following components on every node:
- Cassandra
- ZooKeeper
- Global Mailbox
- Sterling B2B Integrator
- To stop a single node, go to the \<install_dir>\install\bin (Windows) or /<install_dir>/install/bin (UNIX or Linux) directory, open a command prompt and enter the StopWindowsService.cmd (Windows) or ./hardstop.sh (UNIX or Linux) command. Wait until the perimeter server of the node is completely down before installing the fix pack.
- To stop the cluster, open the Sterling B2B Integrator user interface
(dashboard), and complete the following tasks:
- From the Administration menu, select .
- Click Stop the System.
Important: IBM JDK 8 should be installed before upgrading Cassandra nodes
to the latest version. The installer confirms the version of JDK 8 at the path provided during
installation. An error message is displayed if the path is not to the correct version of
Java.

Procedure
To upgrade Global Mailbox, complete the following steps:
- Download the latest fix pack executable from IBM Fix Central or Passport Advantage site.
- Close all command prompt windows.
- On the node where the Global Mailbox is installed, start the IBM Installation Manager.
- Click to open the package group.
- Follow the wizard to upgrade the components.
