Create an instance of Mailbox Scheduled Delete Service

About this task

Use the following procedure to create an instance of the Mailbox Scheduled Delete Service.

Procedure

  1. From the Administration Menu, select Deployment > Services > Configuration.
  2. In the Services Configuration page, in the Create section next to New Service, click Go!
  3. In the Select Service Type page, type the name of the service you would like to configure or select it from the list that is available by clicking on the list view icon next to Service Type dialog box. Clicking on the list view icon opens a new window, where you need to select the service that you need to configure. Once you select the Mailbox Scheduled Delete Service, click Save and click Next.
  4. In the Mailbox Scheduled Delete Service: Name page, in the Name parameter, type a unique name.
  5. In the Description parameter, type a short description for the Service and click Next.
    Note: Select a group can be set as None (default).
  6. In the Properties page, complete the following parameters and click Next:
    Delete only messages older than day(s)
    Type the number of day(s) after which you would like the messages to be deleted. Minimum value is 1. Required.
    Message Extractability
    Describes the type of messages to be deleted.
    • Delete Only unextractable messages - deletes the messages from which documents were not extracted during the message exchange. Default.
    • Delete All messages - deletes all the messages from the mailbox folder.

    Required.

    Message Name Pattern
    Type the pattern of message that you would like to remove from the mailboxes. Optional.
    Select Mailboxes for Message Removal
    Gives you the options for the mailboxes from which you want to delete the messages.
    • All Mailboxes (default).
    • Selected Mailboxes.

    If you select Selected Mailboxes, then you need to specify the mailbox names from which you want the messages to be deleted. You can always add more mailboxes as you need them to this list.

  7. In the Schedule Type page, select the type of schedule from the following options:
    • Do not use schedule (default).
    • Run based on timer.
    • Run daily.
    • Run based on day(s) of the week.
    • Run based on day(s) of the month.
  8. In the Confirm page, verify the information you specified and click Finish.
