Monitoring events

You can view all events for each Global Mailbox message. Information about the processing status of the event, the processing data center for the event, and the date that the event was generated is available for each event.

You might want to view all events for a message for the following list of reasons:
  • Confirm that an event was generated for a specific message in the Global Mailbox that you want the message to arrive at.
  • Confirm that the event rule is set up correctly, and that it is generating events for the appropriate Global Mailbox.
  • Check the processing status of a message with Sterling B2B Integrator when the message is added to a Global Mailbox.
The following types of information are provided for each message event:
Date
The date that the event was generated.
Status
The processing status of the event.
Processing data center
The processing data center for the event.
The following list of event processing statuses are provided for each message event in the Global Mailbox management tool:
Pending Message Replication
Events are published to the message queue for processing.
Pending Event Processing
The message payload is successfully replicated to the required data centers, and the event is assigned to the WebSphere® MQ message queue. The event is processed by the processing application in the order that the event is in the message queue.
The processing application is specified by the event rule. Each event is associated with a specific message payload.
Event Processing
The processing application processes the event according to the event rule. The event rule applies to the mailbox where the event is generated.
Processing Complete
The processing application successfully processes the event according to the properties specified for the event rule.
Processing Failed
The processing application unsuccessfully processed the event.
Message event processing can fail for the following list of reasons:
  • The event rule configuration does not match with the configuration in Sterling B2B Integrator
  • The business process or user who is specified for an event rule are not available in Sterling B2B Integrator
  • The system business process RoutingRuleGMMsgStatusMonitor is deleted
In such cases, the Global Mailbox administrator or Sterling B2B Integrator administrator must make appropriate changes to the event rule configuration or the business process and resend the events.
Important: The events table does not automatically refresh as events are processed.
