Deleting a Global Mailbox by using FTP

Mailbox administrators and users who are assigned permission can delete mailboxes, messages, and submailboxes.

Before you begin

Mailbox administrators can delete any mailbox and all messages and submailboxes. Other users must have appropriate permission to delete the mailbox.

Complete the procedure Accessing Global Mailbox by using FTP.

About this task

The root mailbox cannot be deleted.

A mailbox cannot contain messages or submailboxes to be deleted through an FTP session.

Procedure

  1. Log in as a user.
Authorization to the directory is from the user permissions for mailboxes in the Global Mailbox management tool. The FTP session begins at the virtual root of the user that logs in.
  2. Delete the mailbox by using the FTP client commands or interface.
For example, you might use the RMD or DEL command, depending on your client.
