AS2 Components

The Sterling B2B Integrator AS2 Edition has the following components that are embedded in Sterling B2B Integrator. These components are also available to AS2 users of Sterling B2B Integrator (those AS2 users who are not using the Sterling B2B Integrator AS2 Edition but rather using Sterling B2B Integrator to meet their AS2 needs):
  • Predefined business processes to send messages and check for acknowledgments (MDNs)—these business processes contain built-in error notification mechanisms that are able to send e-mails if MDNs are not received or if a negative MDN is received
  • Services
  • Browser-based user interface to configure and manage AS2 trading partners
  • Database table (AS2_TRADEPART_INFO) that enables the mapping of directories and mailboxes to trading partner contracts
  • Default AS2 URL (ApplicationIP_ADDRESS:port/b2bhttp/inbound/as2), which invokes the business process EDIINTParse and is designed to work both with and without the Sterling B2B Integrator AS2 Edition to verify whether the sender/recipient are in the AS2_TRADEPART_INFO database table and, if so, perform application-specific handling in addition to message parsing

The predefined business processes and the services leverage the EDIINT implementation and enable you to exchange documents with your trading partners through AS2.

The Sterling B2B Integrator AS2 Edition uses either the Sterling B2B Integrator file system (directories) or mailboxes for processing business documents inbound and outbound, or the AS2 Edition allows you to send the documents to be processed directly and bypass file system directories and mailboxes. If you use mailboxes and directories, they are created by the AS2 wizard. This enables you to put a document into a specified mailbox or directory to send it to a particular trading partner and you receive documents from partners though partner-specific mailboxes and directories.

Important: While mailboxes are displayed in the Sterling B2B Integrator AS2 Edition Wizard, the Sterling B2B Integrator AS2 Edition functionality does not support them. Sterling B2B Integrator AS2 Edition users should not select the mailbox options in the wizard.
Important: Sterling B2B Integrator AS2 Edition does not include support for IBM® Global High Availability Mailbox.
