Copying a custom role definition

A role is an account definition that assigns permissions to accomplish specific tasks that are associated with that role. A user with role creation privileges can copy an existing custom role definition and assign it a set of permissions.

Before you begin

A user with role creation privileges creates a new role definition when permissions are needed to accomplish tasks for a specific partner. You can also copy an existing role to use as a template for a new role.

About this task

AS4 Microservice includes a default Master Account administrator user profile that has permission to create objects such as roles and access assigned system functions.

To copy a custom role definition:

1. Log in to AS4 Microservice with role creation access credentials.
2. Click Systems Management > User Roles.
3. In the User Roles page, select the role you want to copy and click Copy.
4. In the Copy User Role page, change or add any necessary values.
5. Click Save to save the copied role object and return to the User Roles collection page.
