Configuring a user profile

A user profile is a user account definition that contains authentication credentials and the set of resources that the user is authorized to use and view. A user with Administrator privileges must create a user profile for each AS4 Microservice user.

About this task

AS4 Microservice includes a default Master Account administrator user profile that has permission to create objects such as user profiles and access all system functions. The system also provides the following default groups. Each group references a user category, which has a related set of default permissions and operations, and views that the user can access. A user can be a member of more than one group.

Master Account Administrators

Members of this account can work with Master Account Administrators, Master Account Users, and Master Account Payload groups. The System Administrator account has different permissions from the Master Account Administrator account. Therefore, the user profiles created by the System Administrator have different permissions than those profiles created by the Master Account administrator.

Additionally, MasterAccountSecurity role is supported in the master account administrator group. Users with MasterAccountSecurity role can create, read, update, and delete user groups under the master account administrator group.

MasterAccountSecurity is not supported out of the box. You must add a user group and assign the MasterAccountSecurity role, and then add user profiles to that group.

Attention: To ensure that your system is secure, you must change the default credentials after installation.
Master Account Users This account has permissions that are conferred by the Master Account administrator. Default user name and password is not applicable to master account users. The users must use the credentials provided by the Master Account Administrator.
Master Account Payload Members of this group can view the message payload for each exchange. The Master Account Payload group does not have a default user. A user with Master Account Administrator permission can create a user and assign the user to the Master Account Payload group.
System Administrator

Members of this account can work with System Administrators and System Users groups. The System Administrator account has different permissions from the Master Account Administrator account. Therefore, the user profiles created by the System Administrator have different permissions than those profiles created by the Master Account administrator.

Additionally, SystemSecurity role is supported in the system administrator group. Users with SystemSecurity role can create, read, update, and delete user groups under the system administrator group.

SystemSecurity is not supported out of the box. You must add a user group and assign the SystemSecurity role, and then add user profiles to that group.

Procedure

  1. Log in to AS4 Microservice with the system administrator or Master Account administrator access credentials.
  2. Click Systems Management > User Profiles.
  3. In the User Profiles page, click New.
  4. In the New User Profile page, enter the required values.
    Field Description
    Associated organization Click Select and select the owner organization with which the user profile is associated.
    Given name Enter the given name of the user.
    Surname Enter the surname of the user.
    Time zone Select the time zone in which the user works.
    Language Select the language (the system of communication for the user’s particular community or county) in which the user accesses the system.
    Phone number Optional: Enter the main phone number for the user.
    Tip: Only numerals, parentheses, and hyphens are valid.
    Mobile number Optional: Enter a mobile number for the user.
    Tip: Only numerals, parentheses, and hyphens are valid.
    Email Optional: Enter a valid email address for the user.
    User name Enter a unique identifier for the user.
    Password Enter a password for the user.
    Tip: The password must contain at least one numeral, capital letter, or special character.
    Confirm password Enter the password again.
    Selected groups In Available groups, select the group or groups to which this user belongs and click the arrow to add the group or groups to Selected groups.
  5. Click Save to save the user profile object and return to the User Profiles collection page.
