Unsubscribing from or resubscribing to the default visibility queue

You can unsubscribe from or resubscribe to the default visibility queue. Use Systems Management > Visibility Event Subscriptions to manage subscriptions.

About this task

When you create a custom visibility event subscription, it is immediately active. If you have at least one custom visibility event subscription, you can unsubscribe from the default visibility queue subscription. The default visibility queue has the subscriber, internal to which you can subscribe or unsubscribe. Ensure that you restart all of the operational members in your installation for the change to take effect, after you subscribe to the default queue subscription again.

Remember: You cannot unsubscribe from the default queue if there are no other queue subscriptions in the system. There must always be at least one queue subscription that is subscribed to the visibility queue to unsubscribe from the default queue.

Procedure

To unsubscribe from or resubscribe to the default event subscription:

  1. Log in as a user with the permissions to manage visibility event subscriptions.
  2. Click Exchanges > Visibility Event Subscriptions.
  3. On the Visibility Event Subscriptions page, select the default visibility event subscription that you want to unsubscribe from or resubscribe to.
  4. Click Unsubscribe to unsubscribe from the default queue subscription or Subscribe to resubscribe to the default queue subscription.
  5. On the Visibility Event Subscriptions details page, select If there are no custom queue subscriptions, the unsubscribe option for the default visibility queue subscription is grayed. Whether you resubscribe or unsubscribe to the default queue subscription, the confirmation message reminds you that you must restart all of the operational members when you resubscribe.
  6. Click OK.
