Consideration for upgrading in a two DC setup

In a two DC setup, if your upgrade from an earlier version to the latest version fails, and you get an invalid master passphrase error, you must copy the master passphrase from DC1 to DC2 before the upgrade.

To copy the master passphrase, complete the following steps:

  1. Verify the global.properties file from <sharedDisk>/config/ location of DC1 and DC2.
  2. If there is difference in the master passphrase, comment out the passphrase in DC2, and replaced it with the passphrase from DC1.

If you do not update the master passphrase, the upgrade to the latest version fails for DC2.
