Importing Sterling File Gateway communities

Import Sterling File Gateway communities from a file that is created in one data center to enable the partners in other data centers. Partners in the communities that are converted to using Global Mailbox are enabled in the data centers where they are imported.

Before you begin

Create a file or receive it from another data center.

Exporting Sterling File Gateway communities

About this task

To import a Sterling File Gateway community and the partners that belong to the community:

1. From the Administration Menu, select Deployment > Resource Manager Import/Export.
2. Next to Import Resources, click Go!
3. Browse to locate the file from the first data center.
4. Enter the passphrase provided by the producer of the export file.
5. Select the following Tuning Options:

   Skip Backup Generation

   To save disk space for the backup file

   Import All Resources

   To avoid importing more resources than you intend

6. Click Next.
7. Enter a Tag Name and Tag Description for the community you are importing.
8. Click Next.
9. Select whether to update objects that already exist in the system.
   • Yes - Objects are given the imported value
   • No - Objects retain the value in the system
10. Click Next.
11. Review the information for the resources to be imported.
12. Click Finish to create the communities in the current data center.
13. If you want to review the import report, click View Import Report.
