Getting started with Sterling B2B Integrator services and adapters

After you install Global Mailbox, you must enable the Sterling B2B Integrator adapters that you plan to use.

Sterling B2B Integrator services and adapters are used to perform activities such as exchanging data or messages for Global Mailbox. For more information about services and adapters, see Sterling B2B Integrator Services and Adapters. For more information about which Sterling B2B Integrator services and adapters are used in Global Mailbox, see Sterling B2B Integrator services and adapters.

Always restart all adapters after any updates to your installation. Depending on whether you have an active/active or an active/passive deployment, specific adapters must be enabled and configured or disabled.

Active/active deployment

In an active-active deployment, the protocol adapters you plan to use must be enabled in all Sterling B2B Integrator clusters, across data centers. Some adapters are enabled during installation. Verify that all of the adapters are enabled and configured to enable Global Mailbox. For the list of adapters that must be enabled and more information, see Configuring active-active deployment.

Active/passive deployment

In an active-passive deployment, you must disable protocol adapters in one of the Sterling B2B Integrator clusters, in a data center. For example, in a two data center setup, if you want the Sterling B2B Integrator cluster in data center 2 to remain as a warm stand by and not accept or process any messages, you must disable specific protocol adapters in the adapter container. For the list of adapters that must be disabled and more information, see Configuring active-passive deployment.
