In the Global Mailbox system, Cassandra cluster topology comprises of the number of Cassandra nodes where you want the data written. This is also known as the replica count or the replication factor.

Cassandra is sensitive to time stamps in synchronizing operations across nodes, due to which the time on machines where Cassandra nodes are installed must be kept in tight synchronization. It is important to synchronize time among Cassandra node machines versus the absolute time.

You must configure failure detection in Cassandra, to avoid temporary period of unavailability due to unexpected failures or network errors.
