Java requirements

Java™ software required for installing IBM® Sterling B2B Integrator is included with the download or media.

Important: JDK 8 is the only supported JDK version for IBM Sterling B2B Integrator 6.0.

Java (All platforms)

Consider the following points for the Java software that is required.
  • The required 64-bit JDK files for Windows, AIX®, and Linux® platforms are provided with the product download or media.
  • Determine the correct JDK or JRE for your installation of Sterling B2B Integrator based on the detailed system requirements.
  • For other IBM Java software, refer to IBM developerWorks®.

JCE requirements (All platforms)

The IBM Unrestricted SDK JCE policy files are required for all platforms supported by Sterling B2B Integrator.

The IBM Unrestricted SDK JCE policy files can be downloaded at http://www.ibm.com/marketing/iwm/iwm/web/preLogin.do?source=jcesdk.

Map Editor Java requirements

To ensure the Map Editor runs properly on your Windows client system, be sure your system meets the Java requirements.
  • The client Windows system requires IBM JDK 1.7.0 SR05 (32-bit) or higher within version 1.7.0 SRxx (Sterling B2B Integrator 6.0 or higher)
Note: To use the remote map test functionality in the Map Editor, a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) from IBM is required on 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
Important: From v6.0.0.2 onward, 1.8 32-bit JRE support is introduced for Map Editor.
  • The IBM JDK and JRE for Windows are available only as part of an IBM product. The 32-bit java files can be obtained from Fix Central.
Note: In case of an upgrade from v5.2.5.x to v6.0.0.3 and v5.2.6.3.x to v6.0.0.3, you must download the Exe_bundle_standards_6000003.jar from Fix Central and install it on Sterling B2B Integrator and then download the Map Editor.
  • To save your source map as an XML file (.mxl file extension) using the Map Editor, you must have Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.0 installed on the same computer as Map Editor. If you do not have Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.0 installed, you cannot save source maps as .mxl files and must use the .map extension.
