Identifying Business Needs

Identifying your business needs consists of noting each business problem, goal, or scenario, and the related progression of actions required to resolve it.

For example, if your business need is to process customer orders, you might note the following actions:

  1. Receive order.
  2. Route order to appropriate departments for processing.
  3. Fulfill order.
  4. Generate data for invoices.
  5. Update inventory records.
  6. Generate invoice statements.
