The C command

Use the C command to specify a different Commands member that you want ATAM to use.

For example, if ATHCMD00 is associated with the MVS system, SYSA, and ATHCMD01 is associated with SYSB, you could type C=01 to tell ATAM to switch from using the ATHCMD00 Commands member to ATHCMD01. For more information on Commands members, refer to Step 2: Creating a configuration data set and commands member.

The result of this command (switching to a different Commands member) is only applicable for the life of the IPL or ATAM address space. When you shut down ATAM or IPL your system, ATAM will revert to using the Commands member specified in the Configuration member for the MVS image. So continuing with our example, if you use C=01 to switch to ATHCMD01, then a few days later you perform an IPL on the system, ATAM will revert to ATHCMD00.

Note: The "C" command can only be used as a console command. You cannot place a "C" command in a Commands member.
Table 1. Syntax and parameter for C command
Item Description
Syntax C=xx
Parameter xx

This parameter specifies the last two characters of the ATHCMDxx Commands member that you want ATAM to use, such 00, 01, AA, ZZ, etc. The default name for a Commands member is ATHCMD00. However, you may want to use a different Commands member for each MVS system on which ATAM will run. In this case, you will need a unique, two-character identifier at the end of each Commands member.
