Create a personal distribution list

Create a personal distribution list to send packages to a list of contacts. Contacts can be Aspera on Cloud user names and groups, along with external email addresses.

You are the only person who can use and edit the distribution lists you create. You may also have access to distribution lists created by an administrator. Available distribution lists display in the auto-complete fields in the To field of the Send files form.

  1. From the user menu (), select Account settings, then click the Distributions lists tab.
  2. Click Create new.
  3. Name your list. Use a name that is unique across the entire Aspera on Cloud organization; it's often useful to include your own name in the list and the word "list"; for example: Jin_list_projectA. Use your local conventions.
  4. Click Create.
  5. Enter the user names, groups, and email addresses for this list.
  6. Click Add.

This distribution list is now available for you to enter or select in the To field of the Send files form.

Note: Aspera on Cloud validates the list when you click Send in the Send files form. If the list you select in the To field contains invalid recipients, the app displays a message that lists the invalid entries. You can send the package anyway, and only the valid recipients receive the package contents (valid external recipients are configured by your administrator).
