Request files from external users

Configure which workspace member types can use submission links to request another user to send a digital package. When you allow members or managers to send submission links, you can list specific eligible recipients.

If the Packages app is enabled both globally and for a given workspace, all members of that workspace can send submission links to other members in the workspace. This is a fundamental function and cannot be changed. By default, all such workspace members can also send submission links to to members in other workspaces, and to people outside the organization. However, you can limit that capability.

  1. To configure the global Packages app, go to Applications > Packages > Collaboration > Who can request packages by sharing submission links.
    • Select All members (default) to allow all members of workspaces in your organization to request others to send packages to the workspace member or to a workspace shared inbox.
    • Select Only workspace managers to allow only managers of workspaces to request packages.
    • Select No one to prevent all workspace members, including workspace managers, from requesting packages.
  2. Click Save.

The setting you choose here is inherited by all workspaces in the organization. To override these inherited settings for a given workspace, go to the next step.

  3. To configure Packages app settings for a given workspace, do the following:
    1. Go to Workspaces > workspaceName > Applications > Packages > Profile.
    2. Clear the box labeled Use global app settings.
    3. In the field labeled Who can request packages by sharing submission links, select the intended workspace member type for this workspace: All members, Managers only, No one.
  4. Click Save.
Note: This setting is not available for an individual shared inbox. All shared inboxes in the workspace inherit the workspace configuration.
Note: When you delete a user from your AoC organization, any submission links they sent become invalid.
