Monitor bandwidth usage
Use the Transfer activity page to monitor transfer activity for your entire organization or filtered by each component of the transfer system: nodes, access keys, workspaces, and users. You can zoom in to data based on configurable time spans (reported in UTC).
To open this page in the Activity app, click Transfer activity in the left navigation menu.
Review your transfer bandwidth over time
The top-level panel displays aggregate bandwidth data for the selected time period, with the most recent transfers displaying at the far right portion of the graph. The data is separated into lines for transfer throughput by sender (blue line) and receiver (green line). Breaks in the line represent periods of inactivity, during which no transfers occur.
- Overall transfer performance, in Mbps. Hover over the blue and green lines (download rate and upload rate, respectively).
- The reason for a failure or error. Hover over one of the red dots on the graph.
Near the graph, find upload and download data for the following:
- Average rate
- Peak (aggregate) rate
- Current rate
You will also see data for:
- Total transfers for the selected time period
- Number of current transfers
- Number of failed transfers
Filter to find specific transfer data
Depending on the entity you selected for the filtering options, data tables display the send and receive throughput for active workspaces, nodes, and users.
- The default, unfiltered view displays transfer activity tables for each node, workspace, and user.
- Filter by a specific node to display data tables for each associated workspace and user.
- Filter by a specific workspace to display tables for each associated node and user.
- Filter by a specific user to display tables for each associated node and workspace.
The term Trusted source in a table refers to a transfer client or some other source that is not a workspace or a human user.
The term Public link in a column means that the transfer occurred through a public link sent to user. Since the link is public, the user identity can't be determined.
Transfers table
At the bottom of the page, you can filter the Transfers table by transfer status: active, failed, and completed transfers.
- Package sent - Package uploaded from the Packages app
- Package download - Package downloaded to the Packages app
- File upload - File uploaded from the Files app
- File download - File downloaded from the Files app
- Node to node - File moved or copied from one transfer server to another using the Files app
Multisession transfers
If any transfer events have the
multisession icon () next to it, the transfer was initiated from
the command line with the multisession feature. The Event details panel for
a multisession transfer includes the session ID and status for each part of the multisession
transfer.
