Add metadata fields to a shared inbox

Create optional or required metadata fields that display on the Package Submission form to users sending content to a shared inbox.

  1. When managing a shared inbox, click Metadata.
  2. You can add metadata fields in two ways:
    • To import metadata fields from an existing shared inbox, click Import. Select the inbox to import from and click Import.
    • To create a new metadata field, click Add field. Add as many fields as you need.

Follow the steps below for each metadata field:

  1. Enter a field title. Aspera on Cloud displays this label to users on the Send Files form.
  2. Select a field type and configure a label.
    For the Dropdown menu and Checkboxes field types, click Add option and name that option. Check Default to pre-select that option in the Send files form. Users can still select a different option.
  3. Set the Required toggle to On to make this option required. Users cannot send their package until they respond to a required metadata field.
  4. Click Save.
  5. To reorder the fields, click the up or down arrows on the upper right of the field panel.
  6. To delete a field, click the Delete icon.
  7. To see a preview of all the configured metadata fields, click Preview.
  8. Click Save.
