Configure IBMid
IBMid is automatically enabled for your organization; you do not need to configure it. You can disable it if required.
IBMid is the ID-as-a-Service (IDaaS) from IBM. It is available for anyone using IBM cloud and many IBM cloud services, including Aspera on Cloud.
The authentication methods you configure for your organization appear as configurable buttons on your organization login page.
You can configure the label on the IBMid login button. You can also configure instructions that display next to the login button, helping users to select the appropriate authentication method when more than one is available.
You can require multifactor authentication (MFA) for all Aspera on Cloud organization members who log in with IBMid. You can also enable a special access option for specific admins to avoid being locked out of Aspera on Cloud when you disable IBMid.
To configure the IBMid button and provide instructions, do the following:
- Go to Authentication > OAuth > IBMid.
- Select the check box labeled Enable IBMid (enabled by default).
- To require users to enter a verification code sent to their IBMid email or authentication app, select the checkbox labeled Require multifactor authentication. For details, see this article.
- In the field labeled IBMid login button label, enter the label you want your users to see on the login button.
- If desired, in the field labeled Instructions to display with the login button, enter a message to users.
- Click Save.
