Avoid lockout when disabling IBMid
When you disable IBMid for your organization, you can minimize the possibility of being locked out of Aspera on Cloud by enabling special access.
Consider this scenario: suppose that you disable IBMid and OAuth, and configure a single SAML provider as the single authentication method for your organization. If the SAML server becomes unavailable, all users would be locked out of your organization.
Special access allows org admins whose Authentication type is set to Any access provider to log in at a restricted URL using their IBMid.
With special access enabled, these admins can access a restricted login page by entering this
URL: https://<your_org_subdomain>.ibmaspera.com/ibmid
. When the admin
enters valid IBMid credentials on this page, they can access Aspera on Cloud.
To configure the required Authentication type for organization administrators, see Create and manage users.
To disable IBMid as an authentication method, do the following:
- Go to Authentication > OAuth > IBMid.
- Deselect the check box labeled IBMid.
- If desired, select the check box labeled Enable special access.
- Click Yes.
