Understand "Size" and "Last Updated" data
This article describes how to interpret data in the Size and Last updated columns in the Files application. Understanding these data gives insight into how and when AoC refreshes the values displayed.
Size column
For files, AoC displays the size reported by the storage. The file size displayed is accurate as of the time shown in the "Last updated" column.
For folders, AoC reports the calculated folder size and file count. To see when AoC last refreshed these values, right-click the folder and select Info. The value reported in the Size field does not reflect changes since the value in the Folder size and file count last checked field.
Last Updated column
Data in the Last updated column show the most recent time that the file or folder
changed.
- For files, this is the time that the file was either:
- First uploaded.
- Most recently replaced with a new version.
- For folders, this is the time that the folder, including its files and sub-folders, was
either:
- First uploaded.
- Most recently added, deleted, or updated.
The data in this column come from the storage for the specific file or folder. The storage type
determines how these data are reported to AoC.
- Local storage reports Last updated time for both files and folders.
- Cloud storage reports Last updated time for files only, not for folders.
- AoC displays these data for files in cloud storage in the Last updated column.
- AoC cannot display data for folders in cloud storage since the data do not exist. In this case, AoC displays "–" in the Last updated column.
