Accelerate Files app setup through inheritable settings
Certain aspects of the Files app are hierarchical, allowing administrators to speed deployment.
There are several settings for the Files app that you can configure at the global app level. Global app settings are inherited by the Files app in each workspace in the org. In each workspace, you can override inheritance to customize settings as required.
Inherited settings include:
- Collaboration
- Public and authenticated link styles
- Restrict usage (workspace level only; can exempt users and groups from the restriction)
To override inherited settings, go to Workspaces > workspaceName > Applications > Files > Settings; then select the check box for Override global app settings.
Hierarchical Level | Inheritance and Customization | Configuration Location |
---|---|---|
Organization: Files app | Can customize defaults. | Applications > Files |
Workspace: Files app | Default: Inherit from global app settings. Can override inheritance to customize for an individual workspace. | Workspaces > workspaceName > Applications > Files |
