Configuring Google authentication

You can enable authentication by Google, which allows users to access Aspera on Cloud based on authentication into Google.

In this scenario, the user in essence logs in to Google using a dialog presented by Aspera on Cloud; Google then passes that authentication to Aspera on Cloud, and Aspera on Cloud accepts that authentication to allow Aspera on Cloud access. Such authentication populates user accounts in Aspera on Cloud based on Google-verified identity.

Note: When you use Google OAuth, you may consider disabling IBMid as an authentication method. Before you do, consider the information in Avoid lockout when disabling IBMid.

Login restrictions

You can restrict user login for certain domains:
  • Include domains: List domains from which users can log in.

For example, if you select Include and list abc.com and xyz.com, only users with email addresses from those two domains are allowed to log in. Users from all other domains are not allowed to log in.

  • Exclude domains: List domains from which users cannot log in.

For example, if you select Exclude and list rst.com and bgt.com, users with email addresses from those two domains are not allowed to log in. Users from all other domains are allowed to log in.
