Manage transfer notifications

You can enable notifications to alert you when one of your transfers succeeds or fails. For example, to be notified when a long-running file transfer in the background finished or failed and requires your attention.

  1. In the navigation bar, go to Settings > General.
  2. To enable notifications, go to Allow notifications and click the toggle to turn it on.
  3. When the option is enabled, select the type of notifications that you want to receive:
    • Notify me when a transfer succeeds.
    • Notify me when a transfer fails.

Troubleshoot notifications

To enable notifications, follow these steps:

macOS:

Check your Notification preferences:

  1. Go to System Settings > Notifications.
  2. Select IBM Aspera.
  3. Turn on Allow notification, and select Alerts and enable the options that fit your requirements.

Check Focus settings:

  1. Go to System Settings > Focus.
  2. Confirm that Do Not Disturb is off.
    Tip: To keep receiving notifications with Do Not Disturb on, go to System Settings > Focus. Then, click Allowed Apps and add IBM Aspera to the list.

Windows:

Check your notifications settings:

  1. Go to Search from the taskbar and type Notifications & actions.
  2. Confirm that Get notifications from apps and other senders is enabled.
  3. Find IBM Aspera in the list and make sure notifications are enabled.

Check your Focus assist settings:

  1. Go to Search from the taskbar and type Focus.
  2. In Windows 10, confirm that Focus assist is turned Off. In Windows 11, Focus is off by default.
