Add Predefined time columns to table visualizations

You can add pre defined time columns to table visualizations. These columns will behave as subranges of the time range selected for the visualization and will always preserve the relative logic towards the visualization data range. To configure sub ranges, select predefined slots on the visualization creation panel. Subranges provide the detailed analysis of metrics insights at various levels, over a period of time, which includes

  • Monthly
  • Quarterly
  • Half yearly
  • Yearly
Important restrictions
  1. Subranges work only for table visualisations. If a different chart type is selected, the subranges settings will be lost.
  2. Subranges are only functional when the time selection is set to a month or higher.Selecting daily calendars, even if the range spans from the first to the last day of the month, subrange functionality will be disabled. This is especially important for Cloudability. Additionally, this limitation also applies when changing dates via the Report Level Date Range calendar.
  3. Using subranges will automatically disable certain other Date Range features, including
    1. Trending via the "View By" selection
    2. Setting up Time comparisons between time ranges
  4. It is impossible to use subranges simultaneously with pivots in one table.
Creating a visual using time subranges
  1. On the visualization creation panel, go to Date Range section. To enable the subrange option select the basic date range of the visual.

  2. Currently we have 4 options. Select the time ranges as desired.

  3. By selecting the options, main visualization creation panel is appeared. It is also possible to rearrange them as per your choice.

  4. Once added, subranges become visible on the table together with the entire selected date range.

Note: Subranges are supported both for Gregorian and Non-Gregorian calendars, such as the 13 period calendar.

Updating time settings for a report in view mode via the Report Level Date Range

Update the time settings for the entire report using the Report Level Date Range time selection at the top left corner of the page. These time settings will influence data that is visible in the table with time subranges. The time set on Report Level Date Range Level is always going to the broadest time range used in the table.

Examples of tables using subranges.
  1. Report Level Date Range is set up for a period longer than the subranges configured in the table.
Time range set up via the Report Level Date Range is 2 years: 2023 and 2024.
    • Last month of date range column shows data: Dec 1, 2024 – Dec 31,2024.
    • Last quarter of date range column shows data: Oct 1,2024 – Dec 31, 2024.
    • Last half-year of date range column shows data: July 1,2024 – Dec 31, 2024.
    • Last year of date range column shows data: Jan 1,2024 – Dec 31, 2024.
    • CapEx column shows value of the metric for the entire period: Jan 1, 2023 – Dec 31, 2024.

  2. Report Level Date Range is set up for the same period that the subranges configured in the table.

  3. Report Level Date Range is set up for the period shorter than the subranges configured in the table.
Time range set up via the Report Level Date Range is half year: Jul 1, 2024 – Dec 31, 2024.
    • Last month of date range column shows data: Dec 1, 2024 – Dec 31,2024.
