Forecast demand for services
◆ Applies to: Planning with Service Demand Planning. The tasks below require you to license Service Demand Planning then edit the Company Profile to enable Service Demand Planning features.
NOTE: The Service Demand Planning module is no longer available from Apptio. The information below is provided for the benefit of current users of Service Demand Planning.
The Incoming Demand page allows you to view expected demand for your service from internal consumers. The Incoming Demand and Service Pricing pages determine the charges for your service. You can view these charges and service revenue on the Ledger page. In addition, a Budget Process Owner or Service Owner can manually enter or import current service demand details. See Enter or import line-item data. To open the Incoming Demand page:
- In the Plan menu, select a plan.
- In the Plan section menu, select Services.
- In the Plan sub-section menu, select All Services, a single service, or a service group.
- On the Component menu, select Planning. See Navigate in Apptio planning applications. > Incoming Demand.
- The following tabs are available:
- Summary - Displays all Cost Object demand.
- Business Units - Displays all Business Unit demand.
- Services - Displays all Services demand.
- Projects - Displays all Projects demand.
- The following columns are available:
- Service - Displays the name of the in-demand service.
- Cost Object - Displays either the business unit, service, or projects that consume the service (ensure your Admin has updated the dimensions).
- To Account - Displays the account that will receive money for the service.

From Account - Displays the account that will be used to pay for the service.
TIP: The To Account and From Account columns display information by default when the provider and consumer cells are populated. This information is editable. You can revert back to the default information by clicking Revert (
) next to the value in the cell.
- 'Period' Quantity - Displays the time periods (months, quarters, and years) for the number of units of a service expected to be in demand. You can add comparison columns at the quarter and year for granularity.
- To publish to Costing Standard, click Actions, then click Publish All Demand to Cost Transparency.
