Item	Description	Description
Plan menu — FY2022 Budget in the illustration	Plan Menu	Lists the available budget and forecast plans. In addition, you can create new plans and manage existing plans. This menu is used in conjunction with the Planning navigation menu items.
Plan section menu — All Plan Sections in the illustration	Plan Section Menu	You use this menu to filter by Cost Object category. This menu is used in conjunction with the Planning navigation menu items.
Plan sub-section menu — All Cost Objects in the illustration	Plan Sub-section Menu	This menu is used in conjunction with the Planning navigation menu items. Use this menu to drill down within the cost object category selected in the Plan section menu to the cost object or cost object group. For example, if you select Departments as the cost object category, you can choose the specific department or department group in here. This menu will display the entire cost object hierarchy to all users in plans they are able to access. This menu is not affected by Cost Object Permissions. 	Bookmarks	This entry is available if you set a default page. For more information, see Bookmark a page.
	Help	You can: access the Help Center send feedback see the release notes for recent features and improvements to Apptio planning applications access product help access Apptio Community
	Settings	You can: edit the Company Profile manage users enable integration with Costing Standard.
	Profile Settings	You can: manage your profile impersonate another user Tip: Administrators may want to do this to check a user's permissions or to troubleshoot problems. log out Administrators may want to do this to check a user's permissions or to troubleshoot problems.
	Options	You can: Open Plans Edit a Plan Submit Changes Finalize Plans Unlock Cost Objects Compare Shortcuts Update Reference Data Depending on the page you have open, you will have different options available.

Planning navigation

Item	Description
	Apptio planning applications support common login and user administration via Frontdoor. Use the Application menu to switch between Apptio applications available in the environment of your organization.
Planning	Create plans, enter budget data, and review and approve budgets (see Budget planning and forecasting)
Spend Management	Load, then compare actuals with the budget (see Import and publish actuals)
Reference Data	Upload accounts and Cost Centers (see Manage Financial reference data) Create currency conversion rate tables (see Import and publish currency rates) Manage reference data, such as built-in and custom dimensions (see Manage reference data dimensions)
Configuration	Configure custom lists

Views

Opening the Planning menu lists all the views available for the selected plan section.

• For all plan sections, Expenses captures direct expenses such as labor, contracts, assets and other expenses (see View net expenses)
• For departments:
  • Status - Review a plan's status
  • Targets (Departments)- Review and edit OpEx, CapEx, and labor target information
• For projects (Project Financial Planning features must be licensed and enabled in the Company Profile):
  • Labor - Capture labor demand in hours
  • Services - Capture service unit demand by project
  • Ledger - Review all direct and indirect expenses plus revenue (cross charges) for departments and projects (see View net expenses)

• For services (Service Demand Planning features must be licensed and enabled; see Edit the Company Profile):
  • Incoming Demand - Capture incoming service demand by business units, services, and projects (see Forecast indirect service costs)
  • Labor - Request labor for devices (see Forecast demand for services)
  • Component Demand - Capture component demand for services (see Forecast demand for services)
  • Service Pricing - Review unit price and calculate the effective unit cost (see Calculate service unit cost and price)
  • Ledger - Review all direct and indirect expenses plus revenue (cross-charges) for departments, services, and business units (see View net expenses)
• For business units (Service Demand Planning features must be licensed and enabled; see Edit the Company Profile):
  • Services - Capture service unit demand by business unit (see Estimate and forecast labor for projects and services)
  • Ledger - Review service costs for business units (see View net expenses)
