Review project initiatives in the List tab
Use the List tab of project initiatives to sort and filter project initiatives based on their score or other attributes. Model labor, OpEx, and CapEx capacity per portfolio, and utilize the results for cutline analysis. Visualize demand vs. capacity using cutlines to support funding decisions.
- In the Plan menu, select a plan.
- In the Plan section menu, select Projects.
- In the Plan sub-section menu, select to view one or all projects.
-
On the Component menu, select Planning. See Navigate in Apptio planning applications. > Summary. The Summary view includes multiple tabs for portfolio investment review.
- Click the List tab.
The following are the major features of the List tab:
(1) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - The KPI values reflect all projects, not just visible projects resulting from an applied filter. The Build vs. Run KPI summarizes CapEx and OpEx values as calculated in the Projects dialog box. To learn more, see Add projects and initiatives to your portfolio.
(2) Filters - The Edit Filters button displays the standard filter options for a data table. The Show drop-down menu is a shortcut to filter for all projects, just proposed, or just approved. The settings you choose with the Show menu are reflected in the Filters dialog box.
(3) Cutlines selector - The cutline you select here segregates the projects listed in the data table into those within target capacity (appear above the cutline), and those that exceed target capacity (appear below the cutline). Note that the cutline is dependent on the current sort order of the table. First sort the table by whatever capacity target you're interested in. Then, apply a cutline.
TIP: When one or more cutlines are applied, their names appear just above the right side of the data table. Click a cutline label to scroll to that cutline in the table. This is helpful when working with a long table.
(4) Data Table - The table lists the selected projects and reflects whatever filtering has been applied. This table supports the same Layout and Actions capabilities, as do other data tables throughout the Apptio planning applications.
(5) Row-level context menu Use the context menu to quickly view or edit a project's attributes, labor, or expenses, or to delete the project.
