Analyze demand versus capacity on the Portfolio tab
Use the bubble chart to make portfolio-level comparisons and analyze investments. You can control the displayed projects’ metrics and dimensions and how those projects are displayed in the bubble chart. The bubble chart supports multi-dimensional analysis, cost projections over multiple years, and OpEx, CapEx, labor effort, build, and run cost analytics.
- In the Plan menu, select a plan.
- In the Plan section menu, select Projects.
- In the Plan sub-section menu, select to view one or all projects.

The following are the major features of the Portfolio tab:
(1) Chart composition options - Use these options to control what projects are to be charted, not the chart design itself.
(2) Metrics list - Metrics are the quantitative values per project initiative. These values are defined or calculated from settings in the Add Project dialog box. When building the bubble chart, you select the metrics values you want for the X- and Y-axis, and individual bubble size.
(3) Dimensions list - Dimensions are the categorical values per project initiative. When building the bubble chart, you select the dimension by which the bubble datapoints are color-coded. The color-coding descriptions appear in the legend at the top of the chart.
(4) Chart building options - To build the chart, drag the Metrics values you want into the Y-Axis, X-Axis, and Size fields. Drag the dimension value you want into the Color field. Note that each field supports a single value and the chart updates dynamically.
(5) Bubble chart - In the bubble chart, you can interact with any bubble datapoint to see details about that project.
- Hover over a datapoint to view essential details.
- Double-click to see that project's full details.
